Dragon wings by Rrkra Dragon wings by Rrkra
Download for full size if it's too small.

Dragon wings.  For those people who asked how I did wings on my dragon brooches.
That's how.
Now I can just link you here =D

Materials, as usual: seed beads (Toho size 11 here, but any will do), thread and (optionally) wire.

tutorial is fabulous, thank you!!!! Just wondered, what gauge wire do you use? for inside, and also if you do the actual beading with wire? thank you!

Any gauge wire that will fit inside the 'tube'. The one I use is around 0.3-0.5 mm.
The actual beading is done with thread (wire isn't flexible enough for that, at least for me).

thank you!! I very much want to try this- do you fit a bead inside if you are doing a head? or does it just hold its shape from the seed beads tension? You are very talented, and kind to share so much.

These are fairly small, so thread tension is enough for them to keep shape.
But if you use a bead, make sure its colour fits (especially with transparent beads).

:XD:

У больших сначала было так rrkra.deviantart.com/art/Bead-…

I'm not sure if I understand what is going on here but I appreciate the tutorial and like seeing (or at least trying to understand) how you do it all.

It does require a little bit of beading experience =D
But glad you enjoyed it anyway))
