Better photos later. Maybe. When daylight and proper background. T_T

Critique is on because...because I have that button but barely ever use it. Feel free to say what you like/dislike/looks weird, things like that.
(*Is aware that the photos are horrid off, that light background is bad with white feather-ends, and that anatomyproportionsstuff is not there* =D )

I finally finished him. Slightly less than 5 months of work... Hours total - about 400. I lost count after the third month XD.
Feathers. Feathers everywhere. But he looks so fluffy...

Front legs, wings/feathers, tail - move (are posable), hind legs move too, but they aren't posable. In wings, every feather can be posed (they are sewn together, so nothing extreme).

Birdthing and my cat.

Size: Around 52 cm (20 inches) long - from front claws to the end of tail feathers. Around 25 cm (9 inches) high. Wingspan about 50cm. No idea about exact weight, but it's heavy...

For the curious people: process of making.
- Made some feathers, made a head for them...
- Neck, leg. Still had no idea what I was making. But the leg moves. ( [link] - More legs.)
- Decided that I wanted feathery wings. Thus, many wires were added.
- Decided on a pose. Yay, sitting pose! Still not certain about the tail. (Later: [link] - Tail will get feathers. And then even more feathers. Also, yay, hind legs!)
- Feathery tail! (And I finally realized, how many feathers I will need for wings. But the bases were already made. Poor me.)

So yeah. As you see, planning =/= my strong side.

Two tutorial/walkthrough thingys were made in the process - paws: [link] and feathers: [link] .

Very pretty, I love the different shades you used. It really shows your skill. I hope to see other little, feathered creatures in other colours. Maybe try and incorporate more than one colour in your work, like red and orange to make it look fiery. Perfect piece of work anyways. I always love to see your final products.

I'm hoping that one day, when I actually have the money, I can actually purchase one of your fine pieces. I would be honored to have one of your wonderful pieces sitting on my coffee table or displayed on my mantle.

I have seen many things sculpted, sewn, stuffed, cast, and many other creation actions, but this piece has created a whole new world of beading in my mind. I had often seen the beaded lizards youth would create for key chains and play things, but this artist has gone above and beyond with their talent. They have taken a common 2D medium and launched it to a whole new 3D level.

The detail and the care that has been put into the beading is incredible as is the uniqueness and creativity of the character. The colors, soft blue hues, are very gentle upon the eye which certainly allows comfortable admiration and enables the eye to float over the piece itself. Absolutely well done and masterfully executed. I do look forward to future pieces from this artist.

Wow. Just wow. I haven't attempted anything on this scale yet. I've been to afraid to try!
I love the coloring and patterns you out into the body and FEATHERS!!! If you have or ever make a tutorial on feathers, please let me know.

I would like to know, how you anchor the wire in the wings?

Lol, I'm still afraid of making something else this big. So much time @@

There is a tutorial on big feathers [link] =D
Small ones are pretty much the same, just without wire^^

Wing wires are attached like in [link] There are more wires and support beads, but the principle is the same. =D

Almost completed the dragonsnake, btw =P

Oh my goodness. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the incredible amount of skill and time that must have gone into this, so I'll just be short and say that this in an absolutely amazing piece, one of the finest examples of craftsmanship I've seen on this site!
